- Exactly. This is the kind of mechanism I was initially proposing, and which
- Keith Rollin called IPostRes(). It is a very specific solution to a very
- specific problem, which avoids the morass associated with persistent objects.

- The persistent object problem is very real, and its resolution would be a
- considerable boon to Object Pascal and MacApp programmers; however, it is a
- fairly large issue which cannot be resolved trivially, and I'd hate to have
- proper view initialization ignored until the persistent object problem is
- resolved. Further, as I mentioned in an earlier link, support for persistent
- objects usually entails only the creation of objects from a stored state, not
- the re-initialization of existing objects to match a stored state.
